Arpke Running for Re-election of State Senate Seat
Tom Arpke, age 64, self employed travel agent, former Saline County Republican Party Chairman and Community Volunteer, is running for re-election of the Republican Nomination in the State Senate 24th District with the campaign focusing on: “It’s All About You”. Arpke has always held the beliefs that smaller government is better and a frugal fiscal policy is the direction that Kansas needs to head and contends we are spending our way into debt and a tax hike in the next legislative session if cuts in the budget are not implemented. Tom and his wife, Beth, have five children and ten grandchildren and feel that family values are core elements that need to be supported in all legislative activities.
Arpke has been involved in many committees in the Senate. They include: Ways and Means, Chairman of the Education Subcommittee, Vice-Chair of General Government Spending, Education Vice-Chair, Ethics and Elections Committee, Natural Resources Committee and Committee of Local Government. Arpke has been active in Republican Party for many years serving as Representative for the 69th District in the House of Representatives. Arpke served on the House: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Transportation, and Education Budget Committees. Arpke also served on the Salina City Commission for two years, and represented the commission on several boards including: North Central Regional Planning Commission, Salina Housing Authority, Salina/Saline County Health Board.
Arpke’s record of service to the community covers a broad range of interests: Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year two consecutive years, Salina Chamber Leadership Task Force 12 years, Salina Chamber Junior Leadership Chairman for Business and Industry 10 Years, Salina Public Library Board Member 8 years serving as President 3 years and Treasurer 4 years, Smoky Hill River Festival Marketing Co-Chair 17 years, Salina Municipal Band Board Treasurer, and Vice President of the Salina Symphony Board of Directors. Giving back to your community is something that Tom does not just give lip service to.
Arpke is pro-life, pro-low taxes, pro-business, pro-education and pro-Second Amendment. He has been endorsed by Kansans for Life (2008-2016), the Kansas Chamber of Commerce (2008-2016), NFIB- the Voice of Small Business (2008-2016), and has an A rating from the National Rifle Association (2008-2016).
